Why Are You a Human Rights Advocate?

How'd you become a human rights activists, friends? Most of my online friends are devoted to doing something to help make America more just and compassionate, and I am interested in knowing how you developed that interest. My brother was a lifelong acute mental patient after infection from mumps (a childhood disease) went to his brain. Larry Neal, 54, was among acute mental patients America de-institutionalized in the 1970s (evicted from hospitals to seed the first private prisons). Police arrested Larry so much for misdemeanor offenses due to this mental illness over the next 20+ years that they decided to kill him and be done with their enforced role as psychiatric caretakers. That was apparently fine with the U.S. Department of Justice, which helped cover-up Larry's death in 2003 in Memphis Shelby County Jail. See http://WrongfulDeathOfLarryNeal.com/ Now my family is persecuted, especially this writer, because we won't "let sleeping dogs lie." Authorities refuse to release records about the 18 days Larry was under secret arrest in Memphis Shelby County Jail while police ignored his missing person report and lied continually to his social worker and family, denying that Larry was incarcerated. The lies prevented Larry's access to vital heart meds and made him doubly vulnerable to Tasering, restraint chairs and tables, or any physical confrontation that might have occurred. My brother was considered expendable for three reasons: He was black, he was mentally ill, and he lacked wealth. Either of those circumstances cause people to be considered expendable in America, whether they are black, white or other. At first we believed Larry had fallen through the cracks, but there are 1.25 million mentally ill prisoners warehoused in the United States, and they comprise 60% of inmates in cruel solitary confinement. I embarked on a justice quest for my family and other victims of the injustice system and founded Assistance to the Incarcerated Mentally Ill ("AIMI"), an online organization with roughly 300 members who advocate to decriminalize mental illness and end capital punishment, mass incarceration, censorship, avoidable wars, and race and class consciousness in the justice system. We fight cyberstalkers to post news and views at AIMI's link, which is http://www.care2.com/c2c/group/aimi . Censorship is applied for two main reasons: Larry Neal's death is still covered-up and there is no statute of limitations on murder, and secondly, mentally ill Americans are valuable private prison commodities.  If they let you, please tell us what led you to devote time and/or resources to promote human rights. By commenting at this article, you might help raise consciousness about your cause and gain support - IF they let you.

If you are not involved in promoting human rights, I urge you to start today. Consider joining AIMI. Taxpayers pay up to $120,000 per year in some states to imprison and treat each mentally ill American behind bars rather than to hospitalize sick people or give timely psychiatric care in communities, which would avoid offenses that lead to arrests, from simple vagrancy to multiple murders. That's my story, except for "The Cochran Firm Fraud," which followed Larry's death and I invite you to read about online and see videos with that name. Just Google the term.

DID TENNESSEE EXECUTE AN INNOCENT MAN - PHILIP WORKMAN?

(16 links in this article)   Was Philip Workman, who was executed by the State of Tennessee in 2007, an innocent man?  Workman's case has striking similarities to the Troy Davis case.  Both men were convicted of  murdering a police officer and condemned to death, and both their convictions were based on witness testimony that eventually fell apart.  Despite three stays of execution and no reliable evidence against Workman, he was executed 25 years after his 1982 conviction.  Workman claimed innocence during his trial and throughout his imprisonment, saying it was actually another Memphis police officer who shot Officer Oliver as three policemen pursued Workman to arrest him for robbery. Davis also maintains that he is innocent of killing Officer MacPhail.  Millions of people believe strongly that Troy Davis is innocent, and Workman also had many supporters who wanted him to have a new trial after witnesses recanted their testimony against him.

Three years after Workman's execution, speculation continues.  Excerpts from Salon.com news article "DOUBT ON DEATH ROW"* are followed by new information in Workman's case in MARY'S COMMENTARY and an update on the Troy Davis matter.  Four of my radio interviews are accessible at the links below.

SALON.COM report excerpts:     Seven of the original eight jurors who condemned Philip Workman now say they doubt he shot Oliver. Five of them have signed sworn statements that they would have decided the case differently had they known then what has come to light today. But it is Paula Dodillet, Oliver's daughter, who has attracted national attention for joining those jurors in their pleas for granting Workman clemency.

-    In 1999 the defense finally tracked Davis down in a Phoenix motel room ( a "vagabond alcoholic" who testified as an eye-witness for the prosecution at Workman's trial). He tearfully confessed on videotape that he saw nothing, but was bullied by members of the Memphis Police Department to testify otherwise.

-    An X-ray (which was not used in Workman's trial, but surfaced 17 years later) shows that the bullet that killed Officer Oliver did not fragment inside his body. This is significant because it likely was not a .45 bullet - the kind of ammunition Workman's gun used.

[There was a hearing to determine if Workman deserved a new trial.]

-    It looked as if the majority of judges would vote in favor of granting Workman a new trial [based on new evidence]. But at the last minute, two senior, or retired, judges - both appointed by Republicans - decided that they wanted to be part of the panel. Senior judges have the right to join deliberations when they choose. Those same judges also happened to be on the three-judge panel that had already denied Workman's request for a new trial. The senior Republican judges swung the en banc vote to a tie.

MARY'S COMMENTARY

NEW INFORMATION:  Ronald Oliver, the murder victim, was one of three Memphis police officers who responded to the 911 call when Philip Workman robbed Wendy’s Restaurant on August 5, 1981. According to a recent report, months prior to being killed while attempting to apprehend Workman, Officer Oliver had crossed a police picket line. After the strike, Oliver was placed on guard duty at Memphis Shelby County Jail for a period of time, possibly because of animosity against him by his fellow officers. Oliver was killed almost immediately after resuming street duty. Did Workman's attorney bring up Oliver's enmity with his fellow officers at Workman's murder trial?   More about Workman’s case is available at this Wikipedia link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philip_Workman#1981_Armed_robbery_and_death_of_Lt._Oliver
.
Dr. O.C.Smith

Dr. O.C. Smith was Shelby County, Tennessee's Chief Medical Examiner when Officer Oliver was killed. His testimony at Workman's trial was key evidence for the prosecution. In June 2002, when Workman's execution was imminently pending, Dr. Smith is alleged to have staged a kidnapping - of himself. Dr. Smith was found in a stairwell to the Shelby County Medical Examiner's office with his head wrapped in barbed wire; explosives and notes secured to his body. The notes accused Dr. Smith of lying about bullet trajectory during Workman's murder trial. Dr. Smith's alleged antics are covered in a 40 Hours special called, Terror at the Morgue.  The link is provided at the end of this article.

Despite Dr. Smith's apparent attempts to cast doubt on his damning testimony about bullet trajectory during Workman's murder trial without making an outright admission of perjury, and despite other new evidence presented above, Workman was denied a new trial and executed by the State of Tennessee after having spent a quarter of a century on death row and saying final goodbyes to his daughter four times.

Dr. Smith was under federal indictment for staging his own kidnapping and for having explosives, but he never stood trial. When the case against Dr. Smith was dismissed, some of the federal prosecutors were reportedly dissatisfied and quit their jobs over it. There was renewed discussion around bringing Dr. Smith to trial on those charges in 2008, but it did not happen. One cannot examine Smith's "kidnapping" without possibly exposing other criminals among police officers and Shelby County officials.  It might also be necessary to examine the possibility that Tennessee denied an innocent man a well-deserved new trial, kept him on death row for 25 years, and killed him in disregard of the fact that the main witnesses used against him had both recanted: (a) Davis, the alcoholic vagabond who police put forth as an eye-witness to Oliver's shooting, and (b) Dr. Smith, who seemed to try desperately to cast doubt on his own expert testimony that was used to condemn Workman.  Dr. Smith is no longer chief medical examiner for Shelby County, Tennessee, but he is frequently used as an expert witness to testify in trials against other defendants across America.  What do you think about that?

I suppose Workman's execution was important to the two Republican judges who stepped out of retirement to swing the vote against a new trial for Philip Workman. I wonder why people do things like that.

DEATH TO THE DEATH PENALTY!

QUESTION:  What part of "Thou shalt not kill" do capital punishment supporters not understand?  There are many things that can go wrong in murder investigations and before or during trials, such as tampered or lost evidence, coerced witnesses, false confessions, and ineffective counsel.  Hundreds of people have been exonerated and released after new trials and hearings or DNA tests.  Although the number of wrongful convictions could be reduced by allocating more funds for public defenders and more careful police investigations, innocent people will undoubtedly continue to be convicted from time to time.  Ending the death penalty is the only way to eliminate any possibility of innocent people being executed.  Not only would repealing capital punishment save lives, but billions of dollars could be saved.  It costs significantly more to condemn a man to execution than to sentence him to life without parole.

Philip Workman's case came to my attention while researching the Memphis Coroner's office after the secret arrest and wrongful death of Larry Neal, my mentally ill brother who MPD arrested and held in Shelby County Jail for nearly three weeks, but denied having him under arrest until he died on August 1, 2003. This was presumably done to kill Larry by deprivation of his heart medication because police were tired of "fooling with Larry Neal," as a county employee warned one of his relatives two weeks prior to Larry going "missing." But despite Larry's numerous arrests caused by his acute mental illness, the State of Tennessee refused to re-hospitalize him as an inpatient, as he had been for about 20 years before many mental institutions were closed in the 1970's.

Although it appears that Workman did not kill Officer Oliver, at least he did rob Wendy's Restaurant and create the chaos that resulted in the officer's death. My poor brother, on the other hand, was guilty only of being sick and DENIED inpatient care. The only thing Larry Neal created was a headache for Memphis Police officers who tired of "fooling with" the acutely mentally ill black man who they knew had a heart condition requiring prescription meds.

As punishment for being sick, Larry got a back-door death penalty.  He often sang too loud outdoors or quoted historical speeches.  We do not know which one of these "crimes" made police secretly arrest and murder him since Shelby County Jail and the United States Department of Justice refuse to release records.

The fuzzy autopsy report we received via facsimile from the Memphis Shelby County Medical Examiner's office appeared incomplete, and we were informed there was no coroner's inquest or other investigation being done regarding Larry's arrest and death. Despite asking for almost seven years, that faxed autopsy report and Larry's death certificate are the only documentation Larry's family has been able to ascertain on his final arrest and wrongful death. Gathering records in a case like this is something that is usually done by one's wrongful death attorneys; however, the law firm the Neals contracted with had a long-standing Shelby County Commissioner as managing partner in the firm's Memphis office.  That conflict of interest was deliberately kept from Larry's family although the Shelby County Commission owns and operates the jail where Larry died.  What ethical law firm would take a case to essentially sue its own managing partner in his other official position?  The (Johnnie) Cochran Firm Fraud was used to prevent our lawsuit against Shelby County Jail and the State of Tennessee by allowing the statute of limitations pass without doing any legal work on the case.  Larry's file was still empty when Tennessee's one-year statute of limitations for personal injury ended, although The Cochran Firm signed contract with the Neals immediately after Larry's demise  and sent its clients lying letters about a non-existent discovery process via U.S.Mail fraud.  When Larry's mom and sister, yours truly, sued The Cochran Firm for fraud, Georgia Superior Court dismissed the case without trial, saying there is no Cochran Firm in Georgia - with the law firm advertising prolifically and open for business every day on Peachtree Street in Atlanta.  NOTHING I ever saw on television, in movies, read about, or dreamed tops that or the things that have happened since, some of which is published in FreeSpeakBlog.

In 2003 when Larry died, the USDOJ was in oversight of Shelby County Jail following a lawsuit by the USA for violating inmates' civil rights.  Larry had numerous prior arrests in the same jail due to mental illness, but jail officials repeatedly lied to Larry's family and social worker for nearly three weeks, denying Larry was incarcerated. Yet the federal agency that is charged with protecting institutionalized persons and Americans with disabilities refuses to investigate Larry's death. Dr. O.C. Smith, who as much as confessed to lying on Philip Workman during his capital murder trial to protect Memphis police, was still Chief Medical Examiner when Larry Neal was autopsied.  There is an elaborate cover-up conspiracy against the Neals learning how Larry died and our fair treatment in court.  Justice was denied for Larry and his family, as it was for Philip Workman, who deserved a new trial.

Forbes rated Memphis third on its 2009 list of the ten most miserable cities.  Forbes cited the high number of corrupt government officials in Memphis who were convicted and sentenced to prison as one reason why the city is undesirable.  It was interesting to learn that Dr. Smith seems to have a history of using his position to cover for Memphis police, and the government apparently has a history of allowing such cover-ups.  I can understand why federal prosecutors quit their jobs after the judge dismissed Dr. Smith's case without trial. The prosecutors are probably honest people who were disappointed like I was to learn that the USDOJ is a corrupt agency that sometimes stands AGAINST justice to protect corrupt Memphis officials. See the link below for more information about denial of justice for Larry.

A youth in Guantanamo Bay Prison Camp

WATCH how the USDOJ under our new administration handles the Secret Arrest and Wrongful Death of Larry Neal and the conspiracy of cover-up that followed and includes lawyer fraud and endangerment of Larry's survivors to force us into silence.  Do you believe the DOJ has actually CHANGED from the agency that shocked the world by ordering secret arrest and torture, including waterboarding, for hundreds of foreign detainees in Guantanamo Bay and Gitmo?  Dozens of camp detainees are still unaccounted for, according to the Red Cross.  What was done to those people was also done to Larry Neal, a middle-aged African American, a harmless mentally ill heart patient who spent 20 years in a mental institution before being released when he and hundreds of thousands of other patients were "de-institutionalized" in the 1970s.  Getting records and accountability for Larry's death is even more difficult than it was to get straight answers and some of the records regarding the camp detainees.  Torturing prisoners was supposedly done to fight terrorism, but there is no excuse whatsoever for Larry's secret arrest and murder.  Thus, the DOJ does not even try to answer the FOIA request about his death. The silence seems to say, "We in the justice system kill who we want and answer to no one."  That is why I advocate for prisoners.  Their fair and humane treatment is in the hands of people who seem to lack respect for human life but spare no effort investigating and prosecuting people for animal abuse.

Let us continue to support innocent people on death row like Troy Davis in Georgia, Thomas Arthur in Alabama, and Darrell Lomax in California.  A Savannah USDC judge heard new testimony in the Troy Davis case on June 23, 2010, and the world awaits the court's ruling.  I agree with Paula Dodillet, Officer Oliver's daughter, that Philip Workman deserved a new trial because the case against him fell apart over time like Troy Davis' case has.  As also happened in the Troy Davis matter, Workman received three stays of execution because there was reasonable doubt of his guilt and he had substantial public support.  However, retired judges came forward to block Workman's opportunity to prove his innocence and live.  Thomas Arthur has been on Alabama's death row for nearly three decades, begging for a DNA test to prove his innocence for much of that time.  Arthur was finally granted a DNA test in 2009, and his DNA matched none of the crime scene evidence tested.  Surprisingly, a judge sealed Arthur's test results immediately after they were released, and an Alabama D.A. announced plans to ask for Arthur's death warrant and kill him in Birmingham News a month after the state knew Arthur's DNA indicated innocence.  Arthur remains on death row.  Most Americans are under the mistaken impression that innocence matters in the justice system, but innocence matters too little in the minds of many people who work in criminal justice.

Unfortunately, some judges and prosecutors do not care if innocent people serve long prison terms or suffer execution.  Many sincere men and women work in the justice system as police officers, prosecutors and defense attorneys, judges, prison guards, and as high-ranking officials, but plenty of them are sociopaths.  I hope this article about Philip Workman and the wrongful death of Larry Neal helps to reveal the fallibility and gross inequities that exist within America's justice system - in both criminal and civil courts.  I could have used a case where the inmate was proved innocent beyond a doubt after his death, but I chose to write about Philip Workman's case because of its similarity to the Troy Davis matter.  Both convictions rest on faulty witness testimony that was eventually retracted or proved to be badly tainted.  Nevertheless, Workman was executed, perhaps because the justice system hates admitting an error and cares too little about human life. Execution is irrevocable. Even capital punishment supporters should agree that nothing less than irrefutable proof should be used to issue a death sentence.  Forensic evidence can be tainted by accident or fraudulent by design; witnesses often make mistakes or tell outright lies, and 25% of wrongful convictions result from people lying on themselves (false confessions).

Please pray for Troy Davis and all death row inmates, and pray for decision makers in the justice system.  We need all of them to be people of their word who and honor their oaths of office.  As Amnesty International states, innocence matters.  Please share this article and others in FreeSpeakBlog with your friends and online groups.  It is too late to help Philip Workman but not too late to remind the justice system that we care about Troy Davis and other people who are condemned to death, especially with insubstantial evidence.  Remind them also that Americans care about chronic mental patients who should be hospitalized or treated in their communities, not imprisoned and/or murdered without accountability like Larry Neal was.  More information about people in this article is available at the links below.

JAIL IS THE LAST THING MENTAL PATIENTS NEED ... AND TOO OFTEN, JAIL IS THE VERY LAST THING THEY EXPERIENCE. Several states have mentally ill inmates on death row.  Please join our quest to help decriminalize mental illness in America. No one should be punished for having a disability.

Please support federal bill H.R.619 to resume Medicaid for mental hospital inpatients, and support Kendra's Law to provide subsistence assistance and psychiatric treatment for outpatients who are released from prisons and hospitals.  When it comes to repealing capital punishment and decriminalizing mental illness, it is financially prudent to be humane.  Life without parole is substantially cheaper than death sentences, and timely treatment for mental illness is much less expensive than imprisoning sick people long-term or repeatedly after avoidable crimes.  PLEASE VOTE at OpenCongress.org in favor of H.R.619 to resume Medicaid for mental hospital insurance . http://www.opencongress.org/bill/111-h619/show  (H.R.619 regards hospital insurance coverage only).

April 4, 2010 marks the 42nd anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King's assassination, but he is still being censored. On December 18, 2008, I discovered that Dr. King's final speech had been fraudulently edited in almost all of its online text versions, and my attempts to inform the public are also censored. Petition Against Stalking and Terrorizing Mary Neal

Before we get into this petition which is an update on my petition that has been published online for months, please see this announcement. It is in my Sharebook at Care2, and for some reason, it is not allowed to show up on the right margin with my other shares: Reporting Opportunities for Inmates, Parolees, Police Brutality Victims & Families http://www.care2.com/c2c/share/detail/1411584

The Petition Aganst Stalking and Terrorizing Mary Neal is available to sign at this link (if they let you): http://www.thepetitionsite.com/2/Justice4MaryNeal

This is a petition for open disclosure, equal justice, and freedom from terrorism. EVEN THIS PETITION AGAINST CENSORSHIP IS CENSORED. Most of my censorship and stalking in person and online is meant to contain information about the Guantanamo-style secret incarceration and death of lifelong mental patient, Larry Neal, and The (Johnnie) Cochran Firm Fraud that followed. http://wrongfuldeathoflarryneal.com/ - I'm not an extremist, unless it is radical to believe America should BE what it said on paper (MLK). They expect to kill Troy Davis and put him under gag order. They already killed Larry Neal and put me under one, because I RESPECTFULLY DISAGREE - http://www.care2.com/c2c/share/detail/1415095

I don't know if 1.25 million sick Americans and 1 in 9 young black men are warehoused in prisons and some are killed because somebody is trying to build a perfect race or what. I ask, although that is probably privileged information like the secret death of Larry Neal.

LISTEN TO MY RADIO INTERVIEW WITH REV. PINKNEY WHEREIN I DESCRIBE MY WORST STALKING EXPERIENCE SINCE SERVING SUIT TO THE COCHRAN FIRM. I was a guest on Rev. Pinkney's BlogTalk Radio Show on October 11, 2009. You can hear our discussion regarding loss of human and civil rights by using this link: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/Rev-Pinkney/2009/10/11/MARY-NEAL-A-WARRIOR

I have a video library of evidence of cyberstalking and cybercensorship at numerous major online sites that I share with people who request a CD. One sample is online at YouTube, called PRISON LABOR PROFITS at this link: http://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=icRD77mugaI

I believe my work uncovers a plot to deny due process of law to minority citizens in certain death-by-police cases. Former Cochran Firm attorney, Shawn Holley, revealed a system of delivering substandard legal work after Johnnie's death, but it is worse than Holley knew. The scheme involves many parties in positions of power:
HOLLEY'S RADIO INTERVIEW www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=12171473

Larry's secret jail death was kept out of the media, but apparently, those who did that did not expect him to have literate relatives. I write about his murder myself, as well as wrongs against many other people who suffer in the "justice" system. See these links about my worst stalking experience. The 911 Emergency Call link has my police report for the night my little grandson and I were waylaid at the Chevron for an hour by a DOT truck and four cars of men. Police refuse to investigate. This article reports numerous other murders in Shelby County, TN:
Mary Neal Finally Heard from Police re: 911 Emergency Call When Waylaid
http://freespeakblog.blogspot.com/2009/10/mary-neal-finally-heard-from-police-re.html

Larry Neal was arrested mid-July 2003 and incarcerated in Memphis Shelby County Jail until he died without his heart meds on August 1, 2003. If more was done to kill Larry than depravation of his vital prescription drugs while the jail repeatedly denied having him, his family is not permitted to know. Requests for judicial release of records and accountability regarding Larry's murder have been denied or ignored by authorities for over six years, including Shelby Co. Jail, the county D.A.'s office, Tennessee Governor's office, and the USDOJ. The Constitution, Bill of Rights, and U.S. Code are ignored. Deaths by police and secret deaths and abuses of inmates in county jails and U.S. prisons (particularly of African American handicapped persons) are deemed less worthy of investigation than dog abuse. That is why "DOG JUSTICE" is the name of my very censored poem about the secret arrest and wrongful death of my mentally and physically handicapped brother Larry Neal (see it below).

With over 2.3 million people incarcerated in the U.S., persons should be free to speak and write in favor of inmates' humane treatment without retaliation, especially regarding one's own handicapped relatives.

I write about Larry's secret arrest and covered-up murder and the incarceration of 1.25 million mentally ill persons in the U.S. I advocate against the death penalty, excessive sentencing, wrongful conviction, racism, the loss of civil rights by Americans, and against passage of Congressional Bill H.R. 645, which proposes to establish six emergency centers (concentration camps) in America. My articles are mostly at two sites: http://freespeakblog.blogspot.com/ and http://NowPublic.com/duo

I write about THE COCHRAN FIRM FRAUD. An Alabama law firm partnered with Johnnie Cochran shortly before he became terminally ill and died in 2005. They use his name contract with and defraud clients, who are mostly minority, disenfranchised persons. In our case, The Cochran Firm protected Memphis Shelby County Jail from our lawsuit for Larry's wrongful death. The law firm simply never filed the lawsuit.Because I expose The Cochan Firm Fraud and other injustices, I am followed and accosted at neighbood businesses but denied police 911 emergency services. Affidavits from witnesses are in Neals v. The Cochran Firm, USDC, Northern Dist. of GA. More witness testimony was ready for presentation in court, but the case was dismissed without jury trial. The judge ruled that what The Cochran Firm did in defrauding our family to protect the jail, our intended defendants, was "immaterial." That is likely because African American taxpayers are considered "immaterial." In fact, in this elitist society, I found that middle-class and poor white people are also "immaterial" enough to die on execution tables while denied DNA tests to prove innocence and to have their most vulnerable family members (mental patients) locked away in prisons.

The cover-up regarding Larry's death is large, as with other prisoner abuse cases where there is no excuse for the cruelty. Some of the parties who we went to for help getting accountability after Larry's secret arrest and death are at this link:

New World Order Nullifies Constitutional Rights for Neal Family

My online submissions are regularly attacked by cyberstalkers, deleted from the Internet, pictures and comments removed from articles, and more. My emails are also attacked. They are monitored and deleted at will, before or after I read them. At least one round of emails were changed even after some of the recipients had read them. There are printouts and witnesses. One sample of my censorship is on YouTube, called PRISON LABOR PROFITS.

This petition itself is an example of censorship. The tab for "video" was deactivated on the Care2 menu, forcing me to upload a picture instead of a film. Cyberstalkers sought to prevent my loading our COCHRAN FIRM FRAUD videos from YouTube. (The links are below.)

Yahoo announced that it bounced over 2,000 emails intended for my receipt within two months (since mid-April), when I announced plans to organize a march to support prison reform as proposed by Sen. Jim Webb (VA-D), who introduced The National Criminal Justice Act of 2009, calling for a national commission to "undertake a top-to-bottom review of our entire criminal justice system." The Yahoo account was suspended daily due to illegal tampering. The announcement for the march is at this link:

HUMAN RIGHTS FOR PRISONERS MARCH - The article was covertly deleted from NowPublic.com in Oct. 2009. Only some comments are left. The article reveals much corruption in the justice system involving prison profiteering, and it was attacked many times. See the original text after a brief update at my blog that keeps several cyberstalkers employed - FreeSpeakblog.blogspot.com - HUMAN RIGHTS FOR PRISONERS MARCH
http://freespeakblog.blogspot.com/2010/01/human-rights-for-prisoners-march-by.html

I did not know initially how much corruption was involved in my brother's death and the conspiracy that would come against our attempts to get legal recourse and advocate for fairness in the justice system. Otherwise, I would not have written my articles advocating for justice for Larry and other inmates in so-called "independent" news sites. I would have taken a computer tech course and only used my own website. (However, I discovered recently they cybercensor it, also and can render pages or parts of pages invisible to the public.)

It is disturbing to see the censorship applied to my work. Cyberstalkers are hired to remove my articles, switch taglines on my work, and otherwise impede the spread of information about my brother's secret death UNTIL WHAT? Do they intend to pay cyberstalkers to clean up after my work forever, or just until they can catch me alone at the store? I pray, others pray for my family and me, and I continue to write about injustices, because there are many other victims. Meet some in the article at the link below that also reports what happened to college students who threaten prison investors' profits by helping to uncover wrongful convictions:

Black Relatives Killed by Police? So? Just Eat Yo Chicken and Shut Up
http://freespeakblog.blogspot.com/2009/11/blacks-relatives-killed-by-police-just.html

Yes, I report horrible injustices. During census counts a few years ago, each slave counted for 1/4 a human being. With the recession, Africans apparently digressed in human value. Larry was both African American and mentally ill, so pit bulls have more clout than he did. Many people, black and white, need DOG JUSTICE in America. Consider Kathryn Johnston's family, another victim of The Cochran Firm Fraud: KATHRYN JOHNSTON MURDER: Atlanta Police Refuse to Release Records - http://www.care2.com/c2c/share/detail/1187804

After I learned that I lived in a place where mentally and physically handicapped citizens like Larry Neal could be secretly arrested and murdered and not given the investigative and prosecutorial effort of dog abuse cases, I began to research why such a thing could happen. I was already censored, but my freedom of speech and press took a serious nose-dive after publishing some of my findings as I did in my concentration camp article.
American Concentration Camps Proposed in Congress - H.R.645

----------NO RESPONSIVE ACTION BY AUTHORITIES--------------

All notices and requests to the police, FBI, USDOJ, and the courts for relief from the cyberterrorism, censorship, and in-person stalking have been met with no responsive action whatsoever, just as our request for records from the USDOJ under the Freedom of Information Act has not been met with the release of records, despite promises from the USDOJ that response would be had before the end of June 2009. In August, the DOJ said it is not telling us anything. Apparently, transparency in government does not apply when citizens die in secret government custody in America.

FOIA REQUEST TO USDOJ RE: LARRY NEAL AND THE COCHRAN FIRM FRAUD http://my.nowpublic.com/health/foi-request-usdoj-re-larry-neal-and-cochran-firm-fraud

When I write articles, huge spaces appear on the public view, but the html view shows hundreds of "queries" that I have been given no explanation about. I assume they are agents of those who censor my input. An example can be seen in this blog in her Care2 Sharebook: http://www.care2.com/c2c/share/detail/1190704

Larry Neal's death while under secret incarceration and his wrongful death attorneys' fraud to help the jail escape accountability should be met with due process of law. My rights to free speech and freedom of press deserve protection. Attacks against exercise of those rights and stalking are illegal, and should be addressed by law enforcement. Freedom of press should not be extended only to those who say "All is right with the world" and "The King has on a beautiful robe."

THE UNDERSIGNED request that America's justice system grant Larry Neal's family due process of law, protection from cyberstalking, censorship, and endangerment.

THE UNDERSIGNED request that the USDOJ release responsive documents relative to Mary Neal's Freedom of Information Act Request, as required by law.

THE UNDERSIGNED further request that the USDOJ conduct investigations regarding the secret arrest and death of Larry Neal and investigate any parties who may have interfered with his family's right to know what happened to this mentally and physically handicapped American and deny his family due process of law following his demise while secretly incarcerated in Memphis Shelby County Jail.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE PETITIONERS for your support as you petition the USDOJ for my protection and free exercise of First Amendment rights.

The Government refuses to tell what happened to Larry Neal and why. I am stalked, censored, and terrorized but denied police intervention because I ask for accountability. This is very Chinese of those in authority. We are frightened and remain home like Anne Frank or runaway-slaves in the Underground Railroad. When cyberstalkers disrupt my computer operations to the point that I cannot send emails and my tweets do not register at Twitter, I am forced out of the house to use PCs at the library or a computer rental business. See our USDC court case online to read the witness affidavit by the manager of a computer store who reports that her business was surrounded by about six cars of men within 15 minutes of my arrival there in 2008. She had to lock her business and employees who were getting off work exited out of the back. (Follow me at Twitter, where I am KoffieTime - http://twitter.com/KoffieTime - If they delete you, join me again. They often delete my followers. I gain 3 new followers and lose 2 or 3 others nearly every hour I am at Twitter. Usually, they have me on an Intranet rather than the Internet, so I cannot often re-tweet your posts. That is done so that the tweets they disallow will not post. This is always the case when I am advocating to save the life of some death row inmate. This week (3/11/10) I they took over my PC via remote access because they do not like my writing about Hank Skinner, awaiting death in Texas on 3/24/10, but denied DNA tests.)

Please note the number beside your name when you sign the petition and check back occasionally to see the support grow, as well as to ensure that your name was not deleted. (This frequently happens on human/civil rights petitions.) Whenever you sign any petition, you should check back within a week or so and see if the number for your signature has slipped backwards, which would mean that some signatures were removed that preceded your own. I know so much about their cybercensorship techniques that I may start giving classes.

Please share the petition with your friends. Whether or not they support it by signing (some people report getting a DoS and cannot sign), it is important for people to know that some citizens are being thusly treated. 8/6/09 UPDATE - The attack got worse today. I wrote a series of articles about Michael Jackson, but they were actually a protest against enforced H1N1 vaccines. They are wildly popular and were read by over 100,000 people. As my articles gained popularity, rather than the site where I publish - NowPublic - being pleased over the increased traffic to its site, technical staff there admitted to being behind the deletions of my articles and comments and photographs and suspended my membership. Regarding this petition, a friend tried to sign three time and could not.

Everything concerning Larry's secret death and his family's justice quest is kept out of mainstream news, and The Cochran Firm's fraud is not reported by consumer protection agencies for the protection of other legal services consumers. People are not supposed to know that the law firm pronounced its Atlanta office non-existent in Georgia Superior Court, then pronounced its Memphis office as being non-existent in United States District Court - the two courts where we sued them. It is likely that the firm is useful in collecting information about African Americans and other disadvantaged legal consumers.

Larry was murdered, and his family's online efforts are met with cencorship, intimidation, and endangerment. However, there may be some safety in having many people know about this, so please share widely. Try to sign, and if they prevent you or later delete your signature (as happened for some signatures on Larry's PETITION FOR DOG JUSTICE), you will know more about life under Big Brother. I have been "under" him for a few years now. The cover-up continues. See http://wrongfuldeathoflarryneal.com/

Evidence and documentation for some of the censorship can be viewed in my Care2 Sharebook. See real-time cyberstalking at YouTube at one of the many videos I filmed over the years to be able to prove this crime in court, if ever we find a judge who allows us to get to a jury - "PRISON LABOR PROFITS" at YouTube.

I often copy evidence and share on video, and numerous posts in the Sharebook were attacked. For example, if you attempt to copy/paste my Shares to a Word document, some data is coded not to paste. Some entries have been coded not to print, also. See the blog at http://www.care2.com/c2c/share/sharebook/513396753- I almost never publish any report without one or many photos, but sometimes those are also rendered invisible. See the index on the left margin of my FreeSpeakBlog for stories about criminalized mental patients, death row inmates, victims of police violence, excessive sentencing, and wrongful convictions, as well as other issues that impact the victims, their families, and the general public (who has to pay for the injustices through high prison costs ($50 billion annually) and lawsuits after police violence). http://freespeakblog.blogspot.com/

DOG JUSTICE

Too bad you weren't a dog, my brother
In my heart, I cried
Many more people would care about you
And wonder why you died

You had no spots or floppy ears
You never fetched a ball
Instead, you were a human being
But poor, black, and flawed

You died in jail for mental illness
I know down in my heart
Your death would be investigated
If only you could bark

Dog deaths get swift justice
Their abusers are sent to jail
Poor Mama would have closure now
If you'd had a wagging tail

But you were made in God's image
And some day, I have no doubt
The mentally ill and American dogs
Will have at least equal clout

by Mary Neal (all rights reserved) http://wrongfuldeathoflarryneal.com/

I don't know if 1.25 million sick Americans and 1 in 9 young black men are warehoused in prisons and some are killed because somebody is trying to build a perfect race or what. I ask, although that is probably privileged information like the secret death of Larry Neal.

Martin Luther King's Final Speech Fraudulently Edited

FOREWORD: (33 paragraphs, 17 links) On December 18, 2008, I discovered that Dr. King's final speech had been fraudulently edited in almost all of its online text versions, and my attempts to tell the public are also censored. The censorship force deleted "dogs and water hoses" and "illegal injunctions," among other fraudulent edits. See the video: http://alturl.com/hogv - I immediately wrote about my findings and emailed several people and organizations. Citizens for Legitimate Government (CLG News) picked up the link to this blog to carry the news to its members. However, someone did not appreciate the public being informed, and my FreeSpeakBlog was attacked (the name is a joke). Dr. King's censorship frce asked Google to take this blog offline as spam. Luckily, Google emailed me and gave me the opportunity to refute the lie. To see comments, see MLK's Final Speech Frudulently Edited to Change History, by Mary Neal, published at NowPublic - http://NowPublic.com/duo - A person commented at NowPublic.com that she had noticed the deletions and edits years before, and she was disgusted by it just as I am and I trust you will be. The article is below. End the conspiracy of secrecy about this censorship. Share the article with your friends and groups.

I had trouble posting the news about Dr. King's edited speech at NowPublic.com, also, as well as everyplace else I tried to insert a link to this blog or to my NowPublic news article reporting the sabotage. When I initially found the omissions and substituted text in Dr. King's final speech, I was unsure whether online publishers had been given incorrect language by accident or by design. Based on the amount of censorship and cyberstalking I encountered publishing news of the illegal edits to Dr. King's "Mountaintop" address, I no longer have any doubt that Dr. King's speech's alterations are deliberate censorship such as he encountered while living.

Since publishing this article, I also discovered what is advertised as being Dr. King delivering his entire final speech at YouTube in two separate videos. Ironically, that video presentation totally skipped the entire section that is fraudulently edited in the online text versions. Unquestionably, these are deliberate omissions and substitutions. I urge readers to contact publishers and request that they check all of Dr. King's addresses for accuracy and make needed corrections.

Dr. King Still Censored 41 Years After Death
Online Versions of "Mountaintop" Speech Are Frauds

I made an astonishing and disheartening discovery. Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s final speech has omissions and substituted text in 18 of the 20 online sources checked. This means there could be more. Are people throughout the world learning inaccurate wording for Dr. King's "I've Been to the Mountaintop" address? Rev. King delivered his famous final speech in Memphis, Tennessee on April 3, 1968, the day immediately preceding his assassination. He was shot in the face while standing alone on the balcony of the Lorraine Hotel on April 4 during a strike by sanitation workers.

Below is the correct language of Dr. King's quote. Text that is usually omitted online is in ALL CAPS below, and text often substituted for Rev. King's actual wording is parenthetical.

All we say to America is, "Be true to what you said on paper." If I lived in China or even Russia, or any totalitarian country, maybe I could understand SOME OF THESE ILLEGAL INJUNCTIONS. MAYBE I COULD UNDERSTAND the denial of certain basic First Amendment privileges, because they HAVEN'T (hadn't)* committed themselves to that over there. But somewhere I read of the freedom of assembly. Somewhere I read of the freedom of speech. Somewhere I read of the freedom of (the)** press. Somewhere I read that the greatness of America is the right to protest for RIGHTS (right)***. And so just as I say, WE AREN’T GOING TO LET ANY DOGS OR WATER HOSES TURN US AROUND, we aren't going to let any injunction turn us around.

___________________

References to "illegal injunctions" against peaceful assembly and to "dogs and water hoses" were deleted in the fraudulently edited presentations of MLK's "Mountaintop" speech.

* I did not hear MLK say "hadn't," but "haven't."

** I did not hear MLK say "THE press," but only "press."

*** I did not hear MLK say "right" (an ideological standard), but "rights" (as in full citizenship).

It is disturbing that so many online sources changed Rev. King's words without notifying readers that the speech was altered. One would assume the individual publishers carrying the misprint do not know.Dr. King was more than a scholarly, peace-loving dreamer. He was a courageous human rights activist whose inspired leadership required that he and thousands of others who were fed up would stand up in the face of powerful government opposition. It is interesting that the text revealing the civil rights leader's willingness to defy illegal injunctions while facing police armed with guns, vicious dogs, and high-powered water hoses would comprise the frequently omitted parts of Dr. King's speech.

Most online videotape excerpts of the "Mountaintop" address start with Rev. King saying, "We’ve got some difficult days ahead." Those video excerpts are not useful in verifying the authenticity of this often-misprinted quote, because this quote comes before their starting point.

Stanford University has the quote correct at its link: http://www.stanford.edu/group/King/publications/speeches/I

NOTE - I tried using the Standford University link on 9/12/09. It now redirects browsers to Standford's main site for Dr. King - http://mlk-kpp01.stanford.edu/ - where I was not able to find the Mountaintop speech presented in its entirety. If Standford is no longer presenting Dr. King's authentic speeches online, it may be more difficult to validate Dr. King's other work. Standford University's text presentation of Dr. King's speech matched the video at Scholarspot. Unless one has actual videos from a trusted source, censorship of Dr. King's other speeches may go undetected.

Compare online text of Dr. King's final speech with the video at Scholarspot, and listen to speeches by other historic persons while at the site.

http://www.scholarspot.com/video/1318/1968-Martin-Luther-King-s-Prophetic-Last-speech-Remember

The Scholarsport video was apparently edited to capture the most memorable portions of the “Mountaintop” address. Unlike the Scholarsport video, the written versions all carry Dr. King's description of an airplane incident just before the speech's famous conclusion when Dr. King proclaimed having "been to the mountaintop."

Dr. King’s methodology for non-violent social change required suppressed people and their supporters to peacefully assemble and protest for basic citizenship rights in a hostile climate wherein their justice quest was met with fierce dogs, strong water hoses, and worse. Thousands of African Americans were joined by people who were Jewish and gentiles. They stood together for justice during the civil rights movement in the face of illegal injunctions.

Civil rights activists should be heralded by all Americans. Their tenacity taught us that the human spirit is determined to be free, and society is better for the dedication those freedom fighters showed. Their protests against injustice never included rioting, looting, or losing their sense of dignity, unity, and purpose. Young people who protested the shooting death of Oscar Grant by Bay Area Rapid Transit police on New Year's Day are to be commended for demanding justice; however, protesters should take a lesson from Dr. King and the Freedom Riders who stood with him. The civil rights era of the 50's and 60's offers valuable lessons about the effectiveness of non-violent conflict resolution that should be protected and passed down to future generations without censorship. We must all learn to get along and resolve disputes without property damage and bloodshed. See the link below:

Happy Martin Luther King Day to Americans - Strongest People on the Planet!http://my.nowpublic.com/culture/happy-martin-luther-king-day-americ...

The online versions of the "Mountaintop" address had omissions described in the quote below in 18 of 20 online sources checked in mid-December 2008. Recurring errors in Dr. King's speech are noted by brackets. Three of the links that featured the misquote follow it, although this writer hopes necessary corrections have been or will be made.

All we say to America is, "Be true to what you said on paper." If I lived in China or even Russia, or any totalitarian country, [OMISSION] maybe I could understand the denial of certain basic First Amendment privileges, because they hadn't [SHOULD BE "haven't"] committed themselves to that over there. But somewhere I read of the freedom of assembly. Somewhere I read of the freedom of speech. Somewhere I read of the freedom of the [EXTRA WORD] press. Somewhere I read that the greatness of America is the right to protest for right [OMITTED"s" - "right" should be plural]. And so just as I say, we aren't going to let [OMISSION] any injunction turn us around.

http://www.afscme.org/about/1549.cfm

http://www.kingian.net/ive-been-to-the-mountaintop.html

There are many more examples of Dr. King's final speech being misquoted in online documents while being presented as literal translations. Because identical errors recur in so many publications, this appears to be deliberate misinformation on the part of the person or entity that supplied the speech to publishers.

During the 1970’s, Black History gained popularity in universities because African American history was omitted from or misrepresented in most American History classes. For instance, my high school textbooks of the 1960's and 1970's made little or no mention of slavery, only Pilgrims.

Laws barring the right for Rev. King and other demonstrators to peacefully assemble and petition their government for a redress of grievances were "illegal injunctions." Dogs and water hoses were regularly used against demonstrators. It seems ridiculous for anyone to intentionally change Rev. King's speech to leave out those references, especially since peaceful protests won the great victory of that day. On the other hand, perhaps the deletions in Dr. King’s final speech result from error rather than intentional sabotage. It could be that the censorship this writer faces daily has made her distrustful enough to ask:

WHY IS THERE STILL AN EFFORT TO RE-WRITE BLACK HISTORY?

An article by Karen Hatter at the link below commemorates the 41st anniversary of Dr. King's death and presents a thorough examination of the misinformation that was employed to discredit him and confuse his message. Apparently, this effort never ended.

The 41st Anniversary of the Murder of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
http://www.nowpublic.com/world/41st-anniversary-murder-dr-martin-luther-king-jr

Martin Luther King, Jr. and 21st century human rights activists have much in common and apparently face the same opposition. There are striking correlations between Dr. King's struggle for civil rights for African Americans and my own family's efforts to hold America to "what it said on paper." Dr. King's freedom quest ended in Memphis, Tennessee on April 4, 1968, by an assassin's bullet. He was killed the day after giving his "Mountaintop" address that is now edited online to change history. Suspicions of a police cover-up linger to this day. My family's justice quest began in Memphis on August 1, 2003, with my mentally ill brother's secret arrest and wrongful death while in secret police custody. Due to an elaborate cover-up, although it is now six years later, Larry Neal's family is not allowed to know why he was secretly arrested or exactly how he died. Authorities refuse to answer his family's simple question: Why and how did Larry Neal die? See http://wrongfuldeathoflarryneal.com/

Rev. King was a human rights advocate who devoted himself to liberating oppressed people. He used the Word of God and his gift as an orator to make a positive difference in the world. Since Larry's death, my family started ASSISTANCE TO THE INCARCERATED MENTALLY ILL ("AIMI"), a grassroots human rights organization with an online presence on Care2 and other Internet networks. This writer spends long hours advocating for oppressed mental patients and their families, trying to save others from suffering as my family has by an unjust system of "justice" that appears to use such persons to keep prisons and jails filled and profitable. AIMI also advocates for other people victimized by the justice system, especially prisoners.

Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated. This writer remains home day after day after being followed for months and accosted several times at businesses in her neighborhood by parties unknown. The stalking has been going on ever since Larry Neal's family successfully served a lawsuit to The (Johnnie) Cochran Firm for fraud, alleging that The Cochran Firm contracted with Larry's mother immediately following his death in order to protect Memphis/Shelby County Jail, then merely held the wrongful death lawsuit against the jail to linger inactive on the law firm's shelves while Tennessee's statute of limitations ran for 10.5 months. The statute of limitations on such matters is 12 months in Tennessee; therefore this law firm kept our case inactive until it was too late to find honest lawyers.

The plight of African Americans living under Jim Crow laws and their quest for civil rights spearheaded by Rev. King and other leaders were ignored, met with violence sanctioned by authorities, and censored in mainstream news until the civil rights movement became impossible to ignore. Rev. King took it to the streets. Thousands of protesters joined Rev. King and marched for equal rights under the law. The quest to render basic human rights and civil rights to 1.25 million mental patients who are presently wrongly imprisoned in America for reason of their mental dysfunctions may require a similar effort. Just as Rev. King and his freedom fighters marched across the Jim Crow South, Assistance to the Incarcerated Mentally Ill members march across the Internet to alert the public of the injustice inherent in imprisoning rather than treating citizens for mental illness, challenge capital punishment, and other humanitarian concerns. Many other human rights and civil rights organizations also march online every day.

Atlanta is Martin Luther King's hometown. It is also home of the Court-declared "non-existent" Atlanta Cochran Firm office. It seems to this writer that this law firm took the name of a trusted legal agent for disenfranchised persons and now uses it to prevent or contain damages from lawsuits after the wrongful deaths of African Americans like Billey Joe Johnson, Kathryn Johnston, and Larry Neal. The justice system now incarcerates 1 in 9 African American young men. People are made to serve long sentences in prison for infractions that were mere misdemeanors a few years ago. Contrarily, it is nearly impossible to hold the system accountable for infractions against the people - even wrongful death by police like my unfortunate brother, Larry. Whereas poor and middle-class Americans are regularly imprisoned after trials where they had inadequate defense, denied DNA tests to prove innocence, and some are executed, justice does not seem to work well in the reverse.

People of all races find the apparent emergence of a police state and decline of civil liberties in America alarming. With 1 in every 31 persons either behind bars or living under the immediate threat of prison as parolees or probationers, America has been dubbed a "prison nation." Inmates are oftentimes abused and killed, including vulnerable mental patients who should have been treated in hospitals or their communities (depending on their offenses) rather than jailed in the first place. While the investment portfolios of prison investors grow thicker, the chairs around American dinner tables grow fewer because brothers, sisters, uncles, and parents are in prison - 2/3 of whom are arrested for non-violent crimes. In January 2009, Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-FL) introduced H.R.645, which proposes to build six (6) FEMA centers in America for Americans, capable of imprisoning millions more.

Unfortunately, the cruelty within America's prison system rivals that in offshore "War on Terror" determent camps. Read a desperate plea for help by Pennsylvania prisoners who fear for their lives, saying they were severely punished since President Obama was elected, especially on his inauguration day, by verbal abuse, beatings, electrocution, and starvation, with their punishment allegedly growing more brutal after they reported the torture: http://www.care2.com/c2c/share/detail/1124844

Dr. King and other historical human rights heroes of all races and nations would be disappointed that people in the U.S. have allowed the proliferation of an emerging police state in America without strong and united opposition. While we still have freedom of assembly on the books, people must unite and just say "NO" to injustice prevailing - peacefully, lawfully, and emphatically. Human Rights for Prisoners March
http://freespeakblog.blogspot.com/2010/01/human-rights-for-prisoners-march-by.html

See a list of 25 justice issues at the link above which my family planned to be addressed by peaceful, concerned people walking together in what is intended to be a multi-racial, multi-cultural march for justice in Dr. King's hometown. It stormed on May 16, so AIMI members continue the Human Rights for Prisoners March on the Internet every day, just as many ther human/civil rights organizations and people of conscience do. Our primary objective is to let Americans know about H.R.619, a congressional bill to resume Medicaid funding for mental hospitals. It was the deletion of that funding souce around 40 years ago that made 1.25 million mentally ill people prisoners in this country. They are cruelly incarcerated for being sick. If Dr. King were here, he would address that human rights violation. But Dr. King did his part, and he is gone. What about you? You are here, and I hope you will insist that our elected officials support H.R.619 and deliver millions of sick people from the risk of imprisonment for being sick and having their need for psychiatric help denied until AFTER they commit a crime.

The solution for justice is the same today as Rev. King suggested four decades ago. America must be true to what was said on paper and actually become a nation with equal justice for all. It is too late to change history, but if the historical record is left intact, we can use what we learn from it to avoid repeating errors in our future.

Let no man pull you so low that you hate him. Always avoid violence. If you sow seeds of violence in your struggle, unborn generations will reap the whirlwind of social disintegration. ~Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.
