We are pleased to present five(5) speakers at the Auburn Avenue Research Library at 101 Auburn Ave., N.E., a few blocks from the King Center. Spend the last hour meeting the panelists and guests, have your books and prints signed, and register for volunteer job opportunities. There is no charge for attendance. Visit the Auburn Avenue Research Library online at   http://www.afpls.org/aarl - Presenters include:

Esteban Garcia, director of U.S. Prison Reform Coalition and of the Texas/Missouri Writ Writers Association http://www.missouriwritwriters.com/ - Garcia is on a cross-country book tour related to his new book, "U.S. Jailhouse Lawyer's Manual - The Unconstitutional Plea." Another of Garcia's books is "U.S. Jailhouse Lawyer's Manual," which is used by jailhouse lawyers in prisons across the country to help inmates file writs of habeas corpus. Garcia is also setting up more offices of the U.S. Prison Reform Coalition, which recently announced its plans to sue the Texas Department of Criminal Justice on behalf of abused prisoners. Garcia reports that his organization is responsible for 120 overturned convictions. The last copy of his first edition of "U.S. Jailhouse Lawyer's Manual" sold online for $1,060. Invest in knowledge!

William Windsor, producer of "Lawless America - The Movie," is a justice advocate and candidate for the United States Congress from Georgia for 2012. Windsor is traveling with his film crew across the country beginning in June 2012 to interview roughly 750 people. Windsor will film the justice seekers speaking about their experiences regarding judicial and government corruption for the movie. Everyone who is filmed will have their stories presented to Congress, whether or not their stories are included in the actual movie. This is an awesome project. "Lawless America" website:   http://www.lawlessamerica.com/

Fred V Man, host of "Primetime Good News," a People TV show, and director of the advocacy organization, "Victory Over Violence," is a community activist who enriches the lives of people in the Metro Atlanta area through numerous organizations he directs. V-man inspires people across the country to become better citizens and better neighbors and to build stronger families by responding positively to life's challenges. More about V-Man is online at this link http://www.victoryoverviolence.webuda.com/V-story.html . V-Man was a recipient of the Liberty Award for World Peace.

Gilbert Young, renowned artist, will also be a presenter at the justice conference. Young uses art to remind us to be our brother's keeper. See "He Ain't Heavy" and other famous paintings at his online gallery http://gilbertyoungart.com/ - Most of us are familiar with Young's creative genius, and many of us have at    least one piece of Young's art in our homes and offices. Come out and meet this famous artist and hear about what inspires his art.

Bob Darby, co-founder of FOOD NOT BOMBS PROGRAM, has been a powerful voice for the homeless in Atlanta and around the nation for years. People were shocked at the brutal death of Kelly Thomas, a homeless mentally ill man who was killed by police officers in Fullerton, California. The video at this link http://youtu.be/yn8CE5ISUSw showing  Kelly's murder was aired on YouTube and raised awareness about the plight of the mentally ill homeless in America who are frequently victimized by their communities and by police. Unfortunately, homelessness, prison and death continue to be usual outcomes for acute mental patients, especially those who refuse treatment or who are unable to ascertain psychiatric services. In addition, a growing number of people who were formerly middle class find themselves homeless in today's economic climate. Darby will address these concerns at the Justice Symposium.

Mary Neal, director of ASSISTANCE TO THE INCARCERATED MENTALLY ILL (AIMI), will report positive, recent developments in the justice system in America: Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) programs were certified by the U.S. Department of Justice; Connecticut joined 16 other states in repealing the death penalty; and more people than ever before are reaching across racial and socioeconomic lines to UNITE FOR JUSTICE! Visit AIMI online at http://www.care2.com/c2c/group/aimi - Work with us to decriminalize mental illness in America.

PLEASE DON'T MISS THE OPPORTUNITY TO ATTEND THE ATLANTA JUSTICE SYMPOSIUM FREE OF CHARGE AT THE AUBURN AVENUE RESEARCH LIBRARY ON SUNDAY, MAY 20, 2012. MEET AND CONVERSE WITH THESE PRESENTERS, HAVE YOUR COPY OF "U.S. JAILHOUSE LAWYER'S MANUAL - THE UNCONSTITUTIONAL PLEA" SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR, ESTEBAN GARCIA.

Spend Sunday afternoon on May 20 with us on historic Auburn Avenue, just blocks from the King Center. PARKING:  Guests may park in "reserved" spaces free of charge. Numbered spaces require a parking fee 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Children are welcome in the handicap accessible building. Attendees at the Atlanta Justice Symposium will hear from people who convene to unite with you for victory over violence and oppression. Regardless of your race, ethnicity, health and economic status or political persuasion, we think YOU should have justice and help others enjoy liberty and justice in America. Please start helping today by sharing this invitation with your friends and groups. Note that our alternate locale and time for the Justice Symposium is 3pm at Piccadilly Restaurant at 5644 Memorial Dr., Stone Mountain, GA.

Have your prints by Gilbert Young personally autographed. Volunteers and financial support for each organization and for "Lawless America Movie" are invited. There is online work to do, so it does not matter if you live outside the Atlanta Metro area. Especially if you are one of America’s laid-off workers or a student interested in gaining practical work experience, consider volunteering to help promote justice. The lyrics for a timeless song say, “Reach out and touch somebody’s hand; make this world a better place if you can. We can change things if we start giving.” Let us continue to climb JusticeMountain together. UNITY makes it happen!

And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language, and this they begin to do; and now nothing will be restrained from them which they have imagined to do ~Genesis 11:6.

Come be a mountaineer with us on May 20th in Atlanta. As Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. said, we can get to the mountaintop. If we unite, we shall overcome!

Sat. Mar. 19, 2012 - 3:45am -- Oops! I just tweeted to @AtlantaUpdate, and the computer started its strange sounds that I think mean the cyberstalkers are stealing a tweet! See a copy below:

Hello! Did y'all tell people about the Atlanta Justice Symposium?  I hope you plan to attend. Welcome!

Today while I was out delivering invitations to the Atlanta Justice Symposium, I called home several times using different people's cell phones. As I suspected, none of the calls were allowed to get through to my phone number (678) 531-0262. I got constant rings with no voice mail, then I reached the voice mail box on the second try, although someone is always home at my house.."They" sometimes allow people to leave a message then delete it before I can play the voice mail. I also placed an invitation to the Justice Symposium at my MaryLovesJustice blog at http://MaryLovesJustice.blogspot.com . I noticed that on certain cellphones, the invitation opens AFTER the initial information that tells when and where the symposium will occur. In 2011, the Black History Parade in Atlanta suddenly got canceled when I published my intention to attend and protest hypocrisy there. Come meet "America's Most Censored - Mary Neal" - Thirteen reasons why I have that unhappy distinction are at this article's link http://justicegagged.blogspot.com/2011/11/americas-most-censored-mary-neal.html . These are reasons why we have an alternative locale for the symposium, although we look forward to meeting you at the Auburn Avenue Research Library. Bring a friend!
