Lynne Stewart's Sentence Upheld by Appeals Court

Lynne Stewart, "The People's Lawyer"

Paragraph 1 of 6 -- A FEDERAL APPEALS COURT upheld a ten-year prison sentence for former activist attorney Lynne Stewart. Stewart was convicted in 2005 and disbarred for allegedly providing material support to terrorists during her representation of the Blind Sheik of Egypt, Omar Abdel RachmanThis article about Stewart's appellate verdict has four(4) links and five(5) numbered paragraphs. Stewart's client opposed Egypt's former dictator, President Hosni Mubarak, years before Egypt's 2011 rebellion against oppression when Mubarak was ousted. Stewart allegedly relayed a letter from the Blind Sheik to Reuters while her client was incarcerated. The former civil rights attorney was dubbed "the People's Lawyer" after successfully defending several members of the Black Panther Party and other clients regardless of their ability to pay for her legal services. Many people regard Lynne Stewart as a political prisoner and a hero for human rights.

Paragraph 2 of 6 -- This writer joins Rev. Pinkney and Ralph Poynter, his co-host and Stewart's husband, on Blogtalk Radio most Sundays at 5pm EST. Poynter explained that although his wife's original sentence was 28 months, her sentence was lengthened after she continued to travel and speak boldly to law students about the fight for human rights. Visit Lynne Stewart's website at http://lynnestewart.org/ for more information, and listen to archived broadcasts of the Rev. Pinkney Show. A special segment on Lynne Stewart is included in every broadcast of the Rev. Pinkney Blogtalk Radio Show, where the call-in number is 347-994-3644. Archived broadcasts are available online at this link http://www.blogtalkradio.com/rev-pinkney (If you experience problems using the link, please Google "Rev Pinkney Blogtalk Radio.") The disappointing appeals court verdict will be discussed on the Rev. Pinkney Show on Sunday, July 1.

Paragraph 3 of 6 -- A thorough account of the court case and background information is in an article by Jeff Mackler, the West Coast Coordinator of the Lynne Stewart Defense Committee, at this link http://lynnestewart.org/2012/06/29/court-confirms-ten-year-sentence-for-lynne-stewart-by-jeff-mackler/    Excerpt:  "Stewart was convicted at an outrageous 2005 New York frame-up trial on five counts of conspiracy to aid and abet and provide material support to terrorism. Her crime? Representing the 'blind Sheik,' the Egyptian cleric, Omar Abdel Rachman, who had also been convicted on trumphed-up conspiracy charges. Stewart issued a press release from her client stating his views on how Egyptian Muslim oppositionists should react to the ongoing crimes and murders of Egypt’s then President Hosni Mubarak . . . 'Free Lynne Stewart' must remain the rallying cry of all those who cherish civil liberties and democratic rights. Stewart, like so many others, but perhaps among the first tier, was a victim of the government-promoted malicious and murderous 'war on terror' aimed at stifling all dissent and imprisoning the innocent to justify its wars against working people at home and against the oppressed and exploited across the globe."

Paragraph 4 of 6 -- TO SEND LYNNE A LETTER, WRITE: Lynne Stewart #53504-054, Federal Medical Center, Carswell, PO Box 27137, Ft. Worth, TX 76127. Stewart continues her activism while enduring incarceration by helping fellow inmates. She is presently recuperating from surgery.

Paragraph 5 of 6 -- Many people wonder why it is difficult to find lawyers for certain civil and criminal cases even if they have irrefutable proof that they were wronged. Perhaps the answer can be derived by observing what happened to Lynne Stewart, Alton Maddox, Johnnie Cochran, and Juan Guerra (Google my article "Johnnie Cochran's CoIntelPro Murder Theory" for a brief summary about each of those officers of the court). Findlaw reported on May 17, 2012: "New York City has agreed to pay [attorneys] Michael Warren and his wife Evelyn $360,000 to settle accusations of police brutality and wrongful arrest. The couple, both civil rights attorneys, alleged they were assaulted when they tried to help a man they say was being beaten by police officers. The settlement was announced on Monday, just hours before the civil trial was set to begin. Jonathan Moore, a Manhattan injury attorney specializing in governmental misconduct, represented the couple. He believes the settlement represents an 'acknowledgement of misconduct.' City attorneys were quick to point out that no one has admitted wrongdoing. Nonetheless, the couple stands by their story. They were driving through Brooklyn in June 2007 when they saw several officers catch and handcuff a young black man, reports Reuters. It was then they allegedly saw Sgt. Steven Talvy kick the man in the head." Lawyers who care about justice like Stewart are endangered in an unjust system. They are sometimes brutalized like the Warrens, imprisoned like Stewart, disbarred like Maddox, or killed like Cochran probably was.

Paragraph 6 of 6 -- Stalkers are attacking paragraph 4, Stewart's address. The next article in this censored blog is "I'm a Soldier on the Battlefield for the Lord." Jesus loves justice, and people who fight for justice are His soldiers regardless of their religion or lack thereof. Justice for all is God's ideal. This article about Stewart's appellate verdict has four(4) links and six(6) numbered paragraphs. I will let you know which portion is attacked. Oh, oh! The stalkers coded several paragraphs when I opened it to make a correction regarding Stewart's original sentence (28 months rather than 18 months I initially wrote). Therefore, I decided to repeat the entire article in comments, beginning with paragraphs 1 - 2 below and continuing in the next comment. Being censored is SUCH a pain.

This comment is a repeat of Paragraphs 2 of 6 through 4 of 6 in the article, "Lynne Stewart's Sentence Upheld by Appeals Court." I may start posting a PDF of my articles along with the regular version. I don't know why I am just now thinking about that and if it would even deter them. These people probably would change the PDF version, also. They could likely just delete my actual PDF and substitute it with an edited version. There seems to be NO WAY to have free speech, which is what Atlanta police already told me.

This is the last two paragraphs of "Lynne Stewart's Sentence Upheld by Appeals Court." This is paragraph 5 of 6 through 6 of 6. Thanks for your interest in justice. Oppose EVERY Internet censorship bill. You may be able to avoid the censorship I endure if you do that.
